Edwin Bradfield Liloa Chillingworth, Jr., known as Sonny Chillingworth, was an American singer and guitarist born on July 14, 1932, in Oahu, Territory of Hawaii. He began playing guitar at age twelve and was inspired by Hawaiian and Portuguese music. In 1954, Chillingworth made his first record, Make'e 'Ailana, with Vickie Ii Rodrigues. His breakthrough came in 1964 with the release of his debut album, Waimea Cowboy. Throughout the 1970s, Chillingworth released several albums, including Rainbow (1976) and Sonny (1977). He was known for his slack-key guitar style. Chillingworth passed away on August 24, 1994, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
