Keola Beamer, born Keolamaikalani Breckenridge Beamer on February 18, 1951 in Hawaii, is a slack-key guitarist. Descending from one of Hawaii's most respected musical families, Beamer began his career in the early 1970s with his debut recording Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar in the Real Old Style (1972). He and his brother Kapono released several albums together, including Honolulu City Lights (1978), which featured the popular single "Honolulu City Lights", and Island Night (1980). The brothers' work helped establish the Hawaiian contemporary style. In the 1980s, Keola Beamer and Kapono separated professionally. He has also been influential as a teacher, publishing instruction manuals and offering lessons in the early 1970s.
