Jason Andrew Molina, also known as Jason Molina, was born on December 30, 1973, in Oberlin, Ohio, and was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He began his musical career playing bass in heavy metal bands around Cleveland before transitioning to a solo career under various aliases, including Songs: Albian and Songs: Radix. In 1995, he released his first single "Nor Cease Thou Never Now" as Songs: Ohia. His discography with Songs: Ohia includes notable albums such as Songs: Ohia (1997) and Didn't It Rain (2002). In 2003, he transitioned to Magnolia Electric Co., releasing the album Magnolia Electric Co. He continued to release music under both his solo name and Magnolia Electric Co., including Pyramid Electric Co. (2004) and What Comes After the Blues (2005). He passed away on March 16, 2013, due to multiple organ failure.
