Biography

Solu Music, a New York-based house music producing duo, was formed by Howie Caspe and Dano Nathanson in the early 2000s. The pair began collaborating in the city’s underground club scene, crafting tracks that blended contemporary R&B and soul influences with house rhythms. Their breakthrough came with the 2001 single "Fade" featuring KimBlee, which first circulated as an underground track before being officially released in 2006; the song charted modestly in several countries and was subsequently included on numerous house music compilations. Following "Fade", Solu Music released a series of singles—"Afrika", "The Way I’ll Feel (If You Touch)", "Love Come Around", "Can't Help Myself", "This Time", "It Ain’t Love", and "Let It Flow (Fudge Mixes) / Tenement"—between 2001 and 2006, showcasing their evolving production style. In 2003 they issued the EP A Night at the Barracuda E.P., and in 2004 the album Affirmationexpanded their catalog. Their work received recognition within niche house circles, with "Fade" achieving a minor hit status and earning placement on several genre-specific compilations. Solu Music’s discography reflects a steady output of singles and EPs during the first decade of the 21st century, marking their contribution to the contemporary house and R&B hybrid scene.
