Biography
Chilean singer-songwriter Soledad Guerrero has spent over three decades shaping Latin American music with a signature style that blends elements of rock, romantic pop, and trova. She rose to national prominence after debuting on the iconic television show Sábados Gigantes, sharing the stage with artists like Luis Jara and Myriam Hernández, before earning widespread acclaim as a featured act at the Viña del Mar Festival, where she won the Silver Torch award. In 1993, she released her debut album Soledad, co-written with Alberto Plaza and featuring the hit âAprendà de ti.â Her popularity grew with the success of âCariño mÃo,â which took her on extensive tours across Latin America, including Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Mexico. In 2001, she recorded Yo soy Sol in Los Angeles with seasoned American musicians, earning Chileâs prestigious Premio Apes for Best Album and a nomination for the Altazor Awards for her song âSecreta Intimidad.â Her third album, Edad de Sol (2009), featured collaborations with Pablo Herrera and Alexis Venegas and garnered two international awards at the Festivegas Festival in 2010. Alongside her solo work, Soledad Guerrero has written for renowned Chilean and international artists, composed music for TV series, and performed with the ensemble Voces, maintaining a strong presence on Chileâs live music circuit. In 2024, she returned with the full-length Ella, featuring a tribute song to Gustavo Cerati and "No Sé Quién Soy, No Sé Dónde Voy" with Marcelo Aedo.
