Biography

Slowblow is an Icelandic musical duo consisting of Orri JÃ³nsson and Dagur KÃ¡ri PÃ©tursson, formed in the early 1990s. Their music blends lo-fi analog tinkerings with both electronic and folksy elements. The duo began recording in the mid-1990s, releasing their debut album Quicksilver Tuna in 1994. They gained significant recognition for creating the soundtrack for the successful independent Icelandic movie NÃ³i AlbÃnÃ³i, directed by PÃ©tursson. In 2004, they released the self-titled album Slowblow under Kitchen Motors, featuring vocals from KristÃn Anna ValtÃ½sdÃ³ttir of MÃºm and EmilÃana Torrini. The duo also provided the music for the film The Good Heart in 2009. Their discography includes albums such as SirkafÃºsk Fousque (1996) and NÃ³i AlbÃnÃ³i (2004), released under labels like Smekkleysa, Kitchen Motors, and Mobile / Plug.
