Biography
SLIFT, a French psychedelic rock band from Toulouse, was formed in 2016 by brothers Jean Fossat (guitar, vocals, synthesizers) and Rémi Fossat (bass), along with their high school friend Canek Flores (drums). The trio began performing together in various groups before forming SLIFT. Their debut EP Space Is the Key was released in 2017, featuring a garage rock sound. In 2018, SLIFT released their first studio album, La Planète Inexplorée, on Howlin Banana Records. The band's second studio album, Ummon, was released in February 2020 and showcased a heavier, metal-inspired sound. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic halting initial tour plans, SLIFT gained international attention through their debut KEXP session. In late 2022, they embarked on their first North American tour, performing at festivals like Levitation and Desert Daze. On January 19, 2024, SLIFT released their third studio album, Ilion, through Sub Pop Records.
