Sleeping People, an American rock band from San Diego, California, formed in early 2002. The group initially consisted of Joileah Concepcion and Kasey Boekholt on guitars, Brandon Relf on drums, and later added bassist Kenseth Thibideau in 2003. In August 2005, Sleeping People released their self-titled debut album Sleeping People through Temporary Residence Records. Shortly after, Concepcion left due to relocation and was replaced by Amber Coffman on guitar. With Coffman, the band recorded three tracks for their second album Growing, released in 2007. In early 2007, Concepcion returned to the band while Coffman departed to join Dirty Projectors. The original lineup resumed activities and continued to perform instrumental rock characterized by complex rhythms and angular riffs. Their third release was the EP NOTRUF in September 2012.
