Chad Aaron Bromley, known professionally as Apathy, was born March 8, 1979, in Willimantic, Connecticut. Apathy began a music career appearing on the Jedi Mind Tricks album The Psycho-Social, Chemical, Biological, and Electro-Magnetic Manipulation of Human Consciousness (1997). In 2001, Apathy joined the rap collective Demigodz and released solo singles such as "Compatible" (2000) and "Just Begun" (2000). Apathy released a mixtape, Where's Your Album?!! (2004), followed by a debut studio album, Eastern Philosophy (2006). Apathy collaborated with various artists and groups, including Army of the Pharaohs, Get Busy Committee, and Demigodz. Subsequent albums included Wanna Snuggle? (2009), Honkey Kong (2011), and The Widow's Son (2018). The album Connecticut Casual (2014) peaked at number 41 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
