Biography

Demigodz, an American hip hop collective, was founded in 1990 by Connecticut rappers Open Mic and Reflex. Initially named "The Nobility," the group changed its name to Demigodz after inspiration from one of Open Mic's verses. The group's early years saw frequent lineup changes, with notable members including Apathy, Celph Titled, Ryu, Esoteric, Motive, and Blacastan. In 2002, they released the EP The Godz Must Be Crazy, following extensive touring in Europe. After a period of member departures, the group re-formed with new additions and released The Godz Must Be Crazier in 2007. Their second full-length album, Killmatic, was released in 2013, featuring guest appearances from Scoop DeVille and R.A. the Rugged Man, and production by DJ Premier. The album received critical praise for its homage to the lyricism and style of golden age hip hop.
