No Motiv, a punk rock group formed in Oxnard, California, was founded in 1995 and consisted of Jeremy Palaszewski, Max McDonald, Roger Camero, and Pat Pedraza. Their first releases were the No Motiv/The Choice split EP in 1996 and the album Cynical the same. In 1999, the band issued And the Sadness Prevailsâ¦, followed by Diagram for Healing (2001) and Daylight Breaking (2004), the latter reaching number 36 on Billboardâs Top Independent Albums chart. After the 2011 EP Winterlong and subsequent lineup changes, the group went on hiatus. They commemorated the 20th anniversary of And the Sadness Prevails⦠in 2019 with a remastered release and limitedâedition vinyl, while occasional reunion shows were held.
