Silver Ginger 5 was a British rock group formed in 1999 in England as a solo project for Ginger Wildheart, the lead singer-songwriter of the Wildhearts. The band's name was derived from Wildheartâs belief that silver and the number five were symbols of luck. Although the name suggested otherwise, the group consisted of only four members. The ensemble was officially formed after the recording of the 2000 studio album Black Leather Mojo, which featured Andy Selway on drums. The band performed numerous live shows with a revolving lineup that included bassist âRandomâ Jon Poole, guitarist Conny Bloom, and drummers Tomas Broman and Ritch Battersby. In 2004, the group released the live album The Great White Monkey. Despite Wildheart stating that a second studio album had been written, the group became inactive as members focused on individual schedules and the Wildhearts' subsequent releases.
