Biography

Siavash Shams Ghafarakhi, known professionally as Siavash Sahneh, was born on January 26, 1963, in Ahvaz, Iran. He moved to Tehran at five and later to California at thirteen. Siavash began his music career in 1985 with the album Hamsayeha, which sold over 500,000 copies among Iranian immigrants. His subsequent album, Sahneh (1993), featured notable songs like "Dokhtar e-iruni" and marked a significant evolution in Iranian music. In 1995, he released Pedar, including the hit song "Tou", which blended traditional Iranian rhythms with techno. His album Faryad (1997) achieved global success, reaching Number 1 on Eurodance and pop Latino charts with tracks like "Boro Dige Dooset Nadaram" and "Historia de Amour". Despite facing bans in Iran, Siavash's music has had a profound impact on Iranian artists.
