Reyhan Karaca is a Turkish pop singer born in 1970 in Harbiye, Istanbul. The daughter of actor Ahmet Karaca, she won an award from the Istanbul Children's Choir at age eight. She studied at the Istanbul Technical University Turkish Music State Conservatory. Karaca began her professional career in 1987 as a backing vocalist and instrumentalist, working for several years with the singer Zerrin Özer. In 1991, she represented Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “İki Dakika”, which finished in 12th place. She released her debut studio album, Başlangıç, in 1993. Karaca achieved national prominence with her second album, Sevdik Sevdalandık (1997). The title track reached Number 1 on radio and television charts, and she was named Best Newcomer Female Artist at the Kral TV Video Music Awards. Her subsequent recordings included the studio albums Yaman Olacak (2000), Mesela (2003) and İmza (2007). In 2012, she released the maxi single Yaz. Her later discography featured the singles “Sobe” (2015), “Şans” (2015), “Kelebek” (2016) and “Roma” (2018). Karaca has also worked as an instructor at the Istanbul Technical University and hosted radio programs including Reyhan Karaca ile Başarı Öyküleri.
