Siân James (born December 24, 1961) was a Welsh folk singer and harpist from Llanerfyl, Powys. James began studying piano and violin at age six before learning the harp and later attended Bangor University. She performed with the folk group Bwchadanas before beginning a solo career. James released her debut album, Cysgodion Karma, in 1990, followed by Distaw (1993) and Gweini Tymor (1996). In 1997, James appeared in the film Tylluan Wen. She composed the soundtrack for the television series Birdman (1999) and founded her own label, Recordiau Bos, in 2001. Her discography included Pur (2001), Y Ferch o Bedlam (2005), and Gosteg (2018). James conducted the male choir Parti Cut Lloi and performed at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in 2009. She received an honorary fellowship from the University of Wales and was inducted into the Gorsedd of the Bards in 2015.
