Biography

Shikuramen is a Japanese three-member male pop group formed in 2008 in Kamata, Tokyo. The lineup consists of leader DEppa and Nikudango—brothers both from Kamata in Ota Ward—and Denkyu, who is from Chofu, Tokyo. Describing themselves as “third-rate pop artists,” the trio built their identity around what they call “Surume Sound,” a style that reveals more flavor with repeated listens. Blending melodic rap with straightforward, heartfelt lyrics, they aim for songs that connect directly to the emotional core. In their early years, Shikuramen faced repeated setbacks, sending demo tapes to labels without success and struggling to navigate independent CD production. Through persistence, they established a distinctive approach that resonated with listeners. Their first indie album, Surume, surpassed 40,000 copies in sales by 2010. In 2009, their song “MUSIC” was selected as FM Osaka’s 40th anniversary image song, leading to a regular radio program in April 2010. A major milestone followed with a live performance at Nippon Budokan in June 2011. On September 28, 2011, they made their major debut with the single "Boku no Takaramono". On May 12, 2026, the third album in the Sudako series, Sudako 3, was released through the music label rock field.
