Japanese actor and singer Kenji Urai (æµ¦äº å¥æ²», Urai Kenji) was born on 6 August 1981 in Tokyo and spent the 2000s making a name for himself in the world of theatre and television, earning the Kikuta Kazuo Theatrical Award for his 2007 performance in Flowers for Algernon and My Fair Lady, the Kinokuniya Theatrical Award in 2009 and in 2017 earning The Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists in Drama. He made the switch to music in 2013, forming StarS with Yoshio Inoue and Ikusaburo Yamazaki, and issuing his debut solo release Wonderland in 2016 on the label Avex Trax. His second solo album Piece arrived in 2021 and in 2023 he released his third solo album Various.
