Biography

Shantanu Moitra, born on January 22, 1968, in Lucknow, India, is a pianist, score composer, and musician known for his work in the Hindi film industry. He began his musical journey at Springdales School in Delhi, leading a band and receiving an award for his contributions to music. Moitra's career took off with the jingle "Bole mere lips. I love Uncle Chipps" for Uncle Chipps, which became an instant hit. In 2005, he gained recognition with his score for the film Parineeta, earning a nomination for the Filmfare Best Music Director Award and winning the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. Notable works include scores for films like Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2005), Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), and 3 Idiots (2009). In 2014, he received the National Film Award for Best Music Direction (Background Score) for Na Bangaaru Talli.
