Their debut single "Stop Calling Me" was released on January 18, 2002, reaching number 5 on the ARIA charts and being certified platinum. The group's self-titled debut album Shakaya was released on October 18, 2002, also debuting at number 5e. Notable singles from this period include "Sublime" and "Cinderella", both of which charted in the top 20.
