Biography
Serge Ibaka, born September 18, 1989 in Brazzaville, is a Congolese basketball player and musical artist. Passionate about music since childhood, he draws his inspiration from afrobeat, afropop and hip-hop, citing Fela Kuti among his influences. In 2019, he makes his musical debut with"Champagne & Water" in collaboration with Nicky Jam, blending Latin and Afro rhythms. He followed this up in 2021 with the LEGGO EP, featuring"Rumba" with Boyz II Men. In 2022, he teamed up with Diplo and Gyakie on Like This, fusing Afrobeat and electronic music. His musical rise was confirmed in 2023 with"Ajé Ajé", a track featuring Ninho, which went gold. Through his projects, Serge Ibaka celebrates African sounds and collaborates with renowned artists, asserting his musical identity beyond the basketball court.
