Biography
Schnaftl Ufftschik, a brass band from Berlin, Germany, was formed in October 1995 by Reinhard Gundelwein, Rolf âCelloâ Fischer, and Lutz Wolf. The group won the Musica Vitale Musikpreis der Kulturen in 1996 and released their debut album, Sabagold, in 1999, which was recorded live in Dresden. Known for blending jazz, folk, and other musical styles within a single song, the band has released several albums, including Oi Tate (Oh Father) (2002), Hotcooltür (2003), and Brasso Continuo (2010). They have also contributed music to theatrical productions at the Rudolstädter Theater and collaborated with Brazilian singers LetÃcia Coura and Adriana Capparelli on the program BRASSil Voices. Schnaftl Ufftschik received multiple awards, including the Folkförderpreis in 1997 and the Studiopreis des Berliner Senats in 2001, 2003, 2006, and 2009.
