Søren Svenninggaard, known professionally as Søren Sko, was born on July 4, 1963, in Aalborg, Denmark. He began his musical journey after moving to Hammel at age nine. Søren Sko's breakthrough came when he met guitarist Palle Torp while performing at Aarhus University. Together they formed the duo Sko/Torp in 1989, releasing their debut album On a Long Lonely Night in 1990, which sold over 200,000 copies and won them the Danish Music Awards for Danish Singer of the Year. Søren Sko's solo career started with the release of his self-titled album Sko in September 1998, which earned him the Danish Grammy for Singer of the Year. Sko produced EyeQ's debut album in 2001. In 2012, he formed the pop-duo Shoes for Julia with Julia Fabrin Jakobsen, followed by their self-titled debut album that same year.
