Biography
Sara Macliver, born and raised in Perth, Western Australia, is an Australian soprano singer. She trained locally under Molly McGurk and began her career as a Young Artist with the West Australian Opera Company. Her early roles included Micaela in Carmen, Papagena in The Magic Flute, and Giannetta in L'elisir d'amore. In 2007, Macliver created the role of Echo/Aphrodite in Richard Millsâ opera The Love of the Nightingale with the West Australian Opera Company. She has performed extensively with various orchestras and ensembles, including Symphony Australia Orchestras, Musica Viva, Melbourne Chorale, and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. Her discography includes albums such as If Loveâs a Sweet Passion and recordings for ABC Classics like Gabriel Fauré's Requiem and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. Macliver has also performed internationally in Japan, Italy, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.
