Biography

Sandy Reed, born Cassandra Reed on July 15, 1968, in New York City, is an American singer known for her work in pop rock and rock music. She grew up in Cologne, Germany, with German-American parents and began playing the saxophone at 14 and taking singing lessons at 16. In 1989, she was discovered by Peter Herbolzheimer and joined the revue cast Das Deutschland-Lied. Reed gained attention after participating in the RTL casting show Showmaster in 1992. Her debut single "Cold" charted in Germany by the end of 1993. In 1994, she released her first album I Believe, produced by Dieter Falk and featuring collaborations with Inner Circle. The album included the single "Sweet Love", which reached the German charts. Reed achieved notable success in Japan, where I Believe went gold and "Sweet Love" topped the charts in 1995. Reed's second album, Reed Me, was recorded in New York and released in 1996. The single "Oops Baby Oops" from this album charted in Germany. She also contributed to the soundtrack of the TV series Der Schattenmann with the song "God Has A Million Faces". In 1998, Reed founded her own music publishing company, Big Balls Musik, and later released an album under her real name Cassandra Reed in 2003.
