Samantha James was born on June 13, 1979, in Los Angeles, California. James is a dance-pop singer known for a style that blends downtempo and uptempo electronic music with soulful vocals. The granddaughter of musician David Rose, James was involved in the Los Angeles underground dance scene during her teenage years. A breakthrough occurred after meeting producer Sebastian Arocha Morton, leading to the debut single âRiseâ (2006), which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. James signed with Om Records and released the debut album Rise (2007). A second album, Subconscious (2010), was produced by Shane Drasin. In 2011, James released the song âWings of Faithâ (2011), dedicated to the victims of the tsunami in Japan. Recordings also include the singles âSummer Hazeâ (2026) and âCloserâ (2026).
