Sam Morgan, known professionally as Sam Outlaw, and born on July 28, 1982, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, is a country music singer-songwriter and producer. He moved to southern California at age ten and developed an early appreciation for country music. Outlaw's musical journey began with a self-released EP in 2014, securing him performance slots at festivals like Stagecoach Festival and AmericanaFest. His album Angeleno was released in 2015, featuring collaborations with Ry Cooder and his son Joachim Cooder. Outlaw signed to Six Shooter Records in March 2015 and was featured in Rolling Stone as a top country music artist to see at SXSW that year. His follow-up album Tenderheart (2017) debuted at number 3 on the UK Country Albums Chart in April 2017, earning two award nominations from the British Country Music Association.
