Biography
Salim Nourallah, born May 3, 1967, in Alton, Illinois, is a Texas-based singer, songwriter, and producer. Raised in El Paso, Texas, Nourallah formed the band Moon Festival with his brother Faris in 1990. He then formed The Happiness Factor, which released two albums: Self-Improvement? (2001) and Avoid Danger (2004). Nourallah's solo career began in 2004 with the album Polaroid, followed by Beautiful Noise (2006), Snowing in My Heart (2007), and Constellation (2009). His song "Don't Be Afraid" from Snowing in My Heart was featured on HBO's show The Wire. In 2012, Nourallah released his fifth solo record, Hit Parade, and formed the band The Travoltas. Notable achievements include producing albums for The Old 97s and Rhett Miller, as well as winning the DOMA Best Producer award seven times in a row from 2006 to 2012.
