Biography

Jorge Salán is a Spanish hard rock and heavy metal guitarist, singer, and songwriter born on April 4, 1982, in Madrid. After studying at the Berklee College of Music, he released his debut solo album, The Utopian Sea of Clouds, in 2002. Salán performed as a member of Mägo de Oz between 2004 and 2008. His solo discography included the albums From Now on (2004), Chronicles of an Evolution (2007), and Subsuelo (2009). He served as the lead guitarist for Jeff Scott Soto and collaborated with musicians including Miguel Ríos, Joe Lynn Turner, and Robin Beck. Salán recorded the live album Directo a San Javier in 2012 and released the albums Madrid / Texas (2015) and Graffire (2016). He joined the band Avalanch in 2017 and returned to Mägo de Oz in 2023. His later work included the acoustic album Ocaso acústico (2024).
