Biography
Beats Antique, a U.S.-based experimental world fusion and electronic music group, was formed in 2007 in San Francisco. The group's members include David Satori, Zoe Jakes, and Tommy Cappel. Satori, born in Burlington, Vermont, in 1979, brought extensive experience with world music to the collaborative drawing board of Beats Antique. In 2003, Satori moved to San Francisco to join Aphrodesia, an afro-beat group. Beats Antique's debut album Tribal Derivations was released in 2007 on Miles Copeland's CIA record label. The group's second album, Collide, reached the top 10 of most downloaded artists under the Middle East and World Dance categories and the top 20 most downloaded electronic albums on Amazon. Beats Antique continued to release albums such as Blind Threshold (2010) and Elektrafone (2011).
