Rudolf Firkušný, born on February 11, 1912, in Napajedla, Moravia, and passed away on July 19, 1994, in Staatsburg, New York, was a celebrated Moravian-American classical pianist. Having studied under the guidance of legendary figures such as Leoš Janáček and Artur Schnabel, Rudolf Firkušný made his mark in the musical world with a broad repertoire that included the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, and particularly Czech composers like Antonín Dvořák and Janáček.
