Biography
Sierra was an American Christian pop ensemble from Dallas established in 1992. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by Christian pop and for producing seven Number 1 hits on Christian radio. The ensemble was founded by Wendi Foy Green, Jennifer Hendrix, and Deborah Schnelle. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous studio recording Sierra (1994) released on the label Star Song which reached number 10 on the US CCM charts. Sierra achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Devotion (1996) reaching number 16 on the US CCM charts. In 1998, Schnelle left the group and was replaced by the musician Marianne Tutalo. Their discography included the studio recording Story of Life (1998) reaching number 23 on the US CCM charts and the studio recording Change (2000). The ensemble became inactive in 2002 after releasing five albums. Hendrix and Tutalo achieved professional recognition for forming the ensemble Abide in 2004.
