Biography

Ronee Blakley, born on August 24, 1945, in Nampa, Idaho, United States of America, is an actress and singer. She began her career as a vocalist with improvisation using Moog synthesizers at Carnegie Hall. In 1972, she released her debut folk-rock album Ronee Blakley under Elektra Records, featuring original songs accompanied by her piano arrangements. The album included the duet "Bluebird" with Linda Ronstadt. Her second album, Welcome, was produced by Jerry Wexler and released in 1975 through Warner Bros. This period also marked her breakthrough as an actress, notably for her role as Barbara Jean in Robert Altman's film Nashville. Blakley's performance earned her a National Board of Review award for Best Supporting Actress and an Academy Award nomination. She collaborated with Bob Dylan on the Rolling Thunder Revue tour and appeared in films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984).
