Singer-songwriter Role Model was born Tucker Pillsbury in Cape Elizabeth, Maine on May 15, 1997. Although his first major musical influence was Elvis Presley, his earliest recordings focused on rap music. He issued his first mixtape, Since When, under the name Tucker in 2016 and changed his stage name to Dillis later that year by the time he released his debut rap album, Moth. Moving away from rap music, he adapted the stage name Role Model and released his debut pop EP, Arizona in the Summer, at the end of 2017. He had begun to build a following online due to his âbedroom popâ / DIY recordings and caught the attention of rapper Mac Miller, who invited him to collaborate. Role Model signed to Interscope Records and issued the single âPlay the Part.â After collaborating with Julia Michaels on her Inner Monologue Part 2 EP, he issued his second EP, Oh, How Perfect (2019). After the release of his third EP, 2020âs Our Little Angel, Role Model released the singles âBlind,â âForever&More,â âDeath Wish,â âIf Jesus Saves, Sheâs My Type,â and âNeverLetYouGo.â He released his long-awaited debut album, Rx, in 2022. Two years later, Role Model released his sophomore album, Kansas Anymore, which included the singles âOh, Geminiâ and âDeeply Still in Love.â 2025 saw the release of a deluxe edition of Kansas Anymore, titled Kansas Anymore (The Longest Goodbye), which featured four new songs, including "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out."
