Biography
Islands is a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, founded in 2005 by Nicholas Thorburn and Jamie Thompson following the breakup of The Unicorns. Their debut album, Return to the Sea, was released in 2006, featuring guest appearances from members of Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade. In 2008, they released their second album, Armâs Way. Following a hiatus, Islands returned with A Sleep & A Forgetting in 2012 and Ski Mask in 2013. In 2016, they simultaneously released two albums, such as Should I Remain Here at Sea? and Taste, both reaching the Billboard Heatseeker charts. In 2023, they released the album And That's Why Dolphins Lost Their Legs, followed by What Occurs in 2024.
