Biography

Riki Gal, born Rivka Menashe on July 7, 1950, in Jerusalem, is an Israeli singer known for blending blues, folk, and pop music. Her early life was challenging. After her parents' divorce, she was raised in institutions and by caregivers from the Finnish Lutheran Mission. Riki Gal's musical career began in the entertainment troupe of the Israeli Navy during her military service. After her discharge in 1971, she released her first album, World of Jacques Brel. She collaborated with notable figures such as Matti Caspi and Ehud Manor. In 1989, she starred in the Israeli production of Evita, alongside Eli Gornstein and Viki Tavor. Riki Gal's album Ohevet otcha yoter (I Love You More) is a co-production with Matti Caspi. She also appeared as Mama Morton in the Beit Lessin Theater production of Chicago.
