Biography

Ricardo Leyva y Sur Caribe, a world music group from Santiago de Cuba, was formed with Ricardo Leyva as its director and primary songwriter. Leyva joined the band in 1987. The group released their debut album Con to' in 2002, followed by Caminando in 2004 and Credenciales in 2005. Notable songs from these albums include "El Poder de las Mujeres" and "En Este Mundo Loco." Ricardo Leyva y Sur Caribe collaborated with various artists, including Jorge Leliebre and Pedrito Calvo of Los Van Van on the track "El Sábado Es Sensacional," and María Ochoa on "Lejos de Santiago."
