Biography
Rhino 39 was an American punk rock band from Long Beach, California, that formed in the late 1970s. The original group consisted of Dave Bratton, Larry Parrot, Mark R. Malone, and Tim Carhart. They gained early recognition with the hardcore punk single âXeroxâ / âNo Compromiseâ (1979) released on the label Dangerhouse. Bratton, who used the stage name Dave Dacron, died in 1980, and his brother Joel Bratton subsequently became the lead vocalist. They released their eponymous studio album, Rhino 39, (1986) through the label Triple X Records. During the 1990s, the lineup featured the singer Jason Scharback and the guitarist Matt Goss. The band served as an inspiration for Jack Grisham of T.S.O.L., and they frequently appeared as a supporting act for the group.
