Rey Vaqueiro is the stage name of Brazilian forró singer David Linhares Pereira de Sousa, born on October 13, 1999, in São Paulo, Brazil. Growing up in a humble background in the outskirts of São Paulo, Rey discovered his talent for singing and songwriting without any formal musical influences. Building connections with local musicians, he began performing at small venues and quickly advanced to larger stages, even collaborating with established artists. In April 2022, he moved to Rio Grande do Norte to pursue his dream of becoming a national artist, launching the Rey Vaqueiro project, which showcases his passion for northeastern culture. His unique approach to spreading regional music gained him widespread acceptance, both locally and nationwide. In June 2023, he joined the prestigious Camarote Shows agency, led by Wesley Safadão, further propelling his career. With this partnership, Rey Vaqueiro began working on exciting new projects aimed at expanding his reach and solidifying his place in Brazilâs music scene. In 2024, he released his breakthrough single "Me Chama, Eu Vou" featuring Natanzinho Lima, included in his album Esquenta do Rey. This success was followed by yet another popular track, "Body Splash," and a live album titled Rey Vaqueiro em Serra Branca.
