Bang the Drum were an Australian pop rock ensemble from Sydney established in 1989. The group consisted of the musicians Jeremy Cole, Steve Driver, J. J. Harris, Jim Reece, and Geoff Robson. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized as pop rock. Their recording career began with the track âOnly Youâ (1990) which reached number 31 in Australia and the track âPassionâ (1990) which reached number 43. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the debut studio recording Bang the Drum (1990) which reached number 51. They achieved professional recognition for performing as an opening act for the ensemble Fleetwood Mac during a national tour (1990). The group became inactive in 1991.
