Biography
Reinhard Lakomy, born on January 19, 1946, in Magdeburg, Germany, was a German composer, pianist, singer, and arranger. He began his musical education at age five and later studied at the Georg-Philipp-Telemann-Musikschule in Magdeburg. By 16, Lakomy was a known jazz pianist. In 1972, he released the German rock singles "Es war doch nicht das erste Mal" and "Heute bin ich allein". In 1975, his composition "Als ich dich heute wiedersah" won the international Chanson-Grand-Prix of Paris for Hauff & Henkler. Lakomy retired from active music in 1977 but returned to produce children's songs and musicals with his wife Monika Ehrhardt, notably Der Traumzauberbaum. He also composed electronic instrumental music and soundtracks for TV series like Polizeiruf 110. Lakomy passed away on March 23, 2013, in Berlin.
