Regurgitator, an Australian alternative rock band from Brisbane, was formed in late 1993 by Quan Yeomans on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards; Ben Ely on bass guitar, keyboards and vocals; and Martin Lee on drums. The trio released their debut self-titled EP in October 1994, which was re-released in February 1995 after signing with Warner Music Group. Their first full-length album, Tu-Plang, recorded in Thailand and released in May 1996, featured a mix of rock and hip hop. It peaked at number 3 on the ARIA Charts and won Best Alternative Release and Breakthrough Artist at the ARIA Music Awards of 1996. Their second studio album, Unit, released in November 1997, marked a shift towards electronic and pop sounds. It included the singles "Everyday Formula", "Black Bugs" and "Polyester Girl" Regurgitator continued to evolve with albums like ...Art (1999), Eduardo and Rodriguez Wage War on T-Wrecks (2001) and independent releases such as Mish Mash! (2004). The band went on hiatus in December 2013 but resumed performances in mid-2015. Their ninth album, Headroxx, was released in 2018, followed by Invader in April 2024.
