Rainer Hartmann, known professionally as Rainer von Vielen, was born on 26â¯Februaryâ¯1977 in Kempten (Allgäu). He began performing as a singer and songwriter, releasing his debut EP Alles und noch mehr in 1998. His breakthrough came in 2005 when he won the Austrian Protest Song Contest, which propelled his single "Rainer von Vielen" onto the FM4 radio charts. He followed with a steady stream of releases: Rainer von Vielen (2005), Kauz (2008), Milch & Honig (2010), Live den Lebenden (2012), Erden (2014), Ãberall Chaos (2017), Oberste Schublade (2018) and Alles mit allem (2019). In parallel, he toured with his live band, collaborated with Orange and Anne Clark, and performed as Jacquesâ¯Boom from 2010. In 2021, he issued the ambient solo album Healing Source under the name ORIOM.
