Rachel Rabin, born in London, England, is an English singerâsongwriter, record producer and filmâscore composer who performs under the stage name RAIGN. Growing up in a musical family-grandfather Oscar Rabin and a father who worked with Frank Sinatra-she learned clarinet and jazz before moving to electronic music. Her first solo single, "Don't Let Me Go", was released in May 2014 and debuted on The Vampire Diaries; the track entered the UK Indie Breakers Chart at number 11 and the UK Alternative Chart at number 38. In March 2015 she issued the EP Knocking on Heavens Door, whose title track "Knocking on Heavens Door" later appeared in the second season finale of The 100 and was voted âBest Use of Musicâ by Entertainment Weekly audiences. The following year, "When It's All Over" was released, with its lead single premiering on The Vampire Diaries. In September 2018, Rabin released her debut fullâlength album SIGN, featuring orchestral arrangements and songs that were used in Legacies, Grey's Anatomy, and the Netflix film Tall Girl; the album was described by critics as âpop romanticismâ and received a deluxe edition in 2019. Throughout her career, RAIGN has contributed to television soundtracks, collaborated with electronic producers such as Swanky Tunes, and maintained a presence on both the UK and US charts, solidifying her role as a contemporary electronic and progressiveâhouse artist.
