Rafael Adolfo Ráez Luna, known as Rafo Ráez, was born on September 5, 1968, in Lima, Peru. He is a singer, songwriter, record producer, and anthropologist, having graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. In 1985, he formed his first band, Ráez, and later went on to join Se Busca (1986â1989) and Eutanasia (1989â1990). Ráez began his solo career with the demo tape Si Pudiéramos Vivir in 1994, followed by his first official album, Suicida De 16 Y Otras Canciones (1996). His second album, El Loco Y La Sucia, was released in 1998 and is considered among the top Peruvian rock albums. Over the course of his career, Ráez has collaborated with prominent artists such as poet José Watanabe and Grammy-winning singer Susana Baca, and has performed widely across Peru, South America, Europe, and North America.
