Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno, an Italian progressive rock band, was formed in Rome in 1971 by vocalist Luciano Regoli, guitarist Nanni Civitenga, and drummer Froggio Francica. The group released their debut concept album Per... Un Mondo di Cristallo in 1972, which narrates the story of an astronaut returning to find Earth devoid of life. The band spent two years refining their music and lyrics before disbanding later that year. Following the split, Regoli and Civitenga formed Samadhi in 1974, while Francica joined Procession and Kaleidon. In 2010, after a 37-year hiatus, the band reunited under the name Nuova Raccomandata con ricevuta di ritorno and released Il pittore volante, featuring some of Regoli's paintings. They also performed with Thijs van Leer that year, with several live tracks appearing on the album, Prog Exhibition: 40 anni di musica immaginifica.
