Biography

Q65 were a Dutch garage rock and psychedelic band from The Hague formed in 1965. The ensemble was founded by Joop Roelofs, Frank Nuyens, and Willem Bieler, with the name derived from the tracks “Susie Q” and “Route 66”. They achieved professional recognition for their debut single “You're the Victor” (1966), which reached Number 11 on the Dutch charts. Their recording career includes the debut studio recording Revolution (1966), which featured the tracks “The Life I Live” (1966) and “I Despise You” (1966), reaching Number 5 and Number 19 respectively. The ensemble became inactive in 1968 but resumed activity in 1970. Their discography includes the studio recordings Afghanistan (1970) and We're Gonna Make It (1971). Bieler died in 2000.
