They debuted with the album Mexican Power in 1992 under Skanless Records, reaching number 32 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. This album featured singles like "One Summer Night," "Life of a Gangster," "No Turning Back," and "Hard Time." In 1995, they released their second album, We're at It Again, continuing their street-style narrative and solidifying their presence in the hip-hop scene. Their third album, Heat, came out in 1998, followed by Overdose in 1999. Overdose included tracks such as "Shake the Ground," "We Run This Mutha," and "Can You Rock Like This," highlighting their consistent output during the late 1990s. Proper Dos were also known for their association with several artists in the West Coast rap scene, including Big Shady, Lil Rob, Point Blank, Royal T, and Knightowl. The duo also featured on the Low Profile Records compilation Brown Pride Riders, Vol. 2 in 2000, and released their fifth full-length Ol' Skool Wayz in 2005. In 2012, they featured in Chicano rapper Serio's track "Don’t Hate Me Cause I’m Mexican." Fear of a Brown Planet, the group's first studio album since 1999's Overdose, came out in 2020.
