Biography
Prettymuch was formed in 2016 in Los Angeles by Brandon Michael Lee Arreaga (born December 14, 1999, Texas), Edwin Joel Honoret (born February 12, 1999, Bronx), Austin Dale Porter (born August 14, 1997, Charlotte), and Caleb Zion Kuwonu (born June 29, 1999, Ottawa). The quartet began as solo artists before being assembled by Syco Music founder Simon Cowell and label president Sonny Takhar. Their breakthrough came with the 2017 single "Would You Mind", written by Savan Kotecha and Jacob Kasher, which entered the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 and was performed at the Teen Choice Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. In 2018 they released the EP Prettymuch an EP, followed by Phases and INTL:EP in 2019, the latter featuring collaborations with CNCO, LuÃsa Sonza, NCT Dream, and Iñigo Pascual. The group signed with Sire Records in December 2020 and issued the EP Smackables in January 2021, later expanded to a deluxe edition in February 2021, which included the single "Stars" that was played extensively on pop radio. Prettymuch toured extensively, including the PrettyMuch Everywhere Tour, Funktion Tour, and FOMO Tour, and performed on national platforms such as Good Morning America and Late Late Show with James Corden. In October 2022 Nick Mara departed, and in October 2023 the band announced its disbandment, concluding a career marked by multiple charting singles and international collaborations.
