Biography

John Lincoln Coughlin, known as Preacher Jack, born on February 12, 1942, in Malden, Massachusetts, is an American pianist. He taught himself piano and gained underground success playing in Boston during the 1960s and 1970s. George Thorogood discovered him and signed him to Rounder Records, where he released his debut album Rock 'n Roll Preacher in 1980. Throughout the 1980s, Coughlin recorded two albums with Rounder Records. He took an extended break from recording in the 1990s but continued touring and eventually released new material late in the decade.
