Porno para Ricardo, a Cuban rock band founded in 1998, gained attention for their politically charged lyrics criticizing the Cuban government and the band's leader, Gorki Ãguila, faced legal issues due to their critical stance against the regime. Their debut album, Rock para las masas... (cárnicas), was released in 2002, followed by the EP Rock Hecho En Cuba in 2003 and the full-length album A mi no me gusta la polÃtica pero yo le gusto a ella compañero in 2006. In 2011, Ãguila released Porno Para Ricardo and performed at the United Islands Festival in Prague though other band members were prohibited from traveling. The group's bassist, William Retureta, sought political asylum in the Czech Republic in 2013.
